Jack n’ Jill’s of Beverly Hills (Santa Monica) Cookies
two words: HUGE COOKIES.
One chocolate chip cookie almost took up my whole plate:

(I will get a new phone with a better camera soon…)
I broke a chocolate chip cookie in half to not feel like a glutton. After all, these are supposed to be a dessert. But of course I had my (half!) cookie for lunch and my veggie wrap for dessert…

As I split the cookie open I noticed that they did a really good job of not baking it all the way through. The outside was completely baked, a nice golden brown; the inside, however, was very soft and moist. There is a definite distinction between the outside of the cookie and the inside. I love that. A little on the crumbly side. Very sweet and buttery. It could have really used some more chocolate chips, though; I didn’t feel that there was enough chocolate in each bite. I took some of the flourless peanut butter with a dollop of Nutella on top in the center too; that was much more crumbly and crunchy and more peanut butter-y than other peanut butter cookies I’ve eaten. The big drop of chocolate in the middle is a little weird; I wish it were more evenly distributed. Most items on the menu of this lunch / dinner stop are $10-$15, so a $2.50 huge cookie is not that much out of place. But by itself, it’s way too big to eat as a snack (which is why I ate it for lunch, right?), but it’s perfect for two people to share.

Taste: 8
Crust moistness: Medium
Center moistness: Soft
Value: $2.50 for a cookie that fits in my plate — for the restaurant, size and taste, not bad, but still on the expensive side for a cookie
Overall: 7 — I’d rather buy and eat cookies that are smaller and cheaper and taste *almost* as good.
