Cookie Review: Tropicana Bakery

I went to Tropicana Bakery this weekend and they had almost nothing vegetarian. Well, they’re not really  known for their food… you walk in, and the first thing you’ll see is rows and rows of cakes, pastries and breads!! I was so excited to try out their cookies. But maybe I should have gotten the mango cheesecake instead…

Here are pictures of the two sugarfree (read: Splenda-ed) cookies I got:

Tropicana Bakery Cashew cookie

Tropicana Bakery sugar free cookie

The first one, I’ll call a cashew cookie, cuz it looks like a cashew. either way, they more or less tasted the same (er.. but they were a LOT prettier before they spent a couple of hours in the hot car…). NOT a fan. It was soft, but a bready soft, not like a cookie soft. it was too cakey for me to like it as a cookie. Taste was bland.. not enough chocolate?! Next time I’ll stick with the pastries!

  • Taste: 3
  • Crust and center moistness: bready / cakey
  • Value: 5 for $1.25. and you have to get 5. $0.25 for a bad cookie is not too bad..?
  • Overall: PASS, get their cakes instead, that is what they’re known for anyway!
