Subway disappoints.

Ugh. I am so angry. Last week I went to Subway and they were saying that if you kept your receipt and then filled out a survey online that you’d receive a free cookie via special code in your email. I did that. twice. Guess who never got any emails? LAME. has anyone done this and actually got an email?

COOKIES arrived at work

Cheryl & Co. cookies. Fancy, I know. Gourmet delivery! An entire box of individually wrapped cookies. Choc chip, oatmeal raisin, even some butter cookies with frosting! I was first to get grabby so I got chocolate chip. Can’t go wrong, right? Well, I was right, because I heard not great things about the frosting ones.

My cookie was, meh. I don’t know what satisfies the definition of “fancy” when it comes to cookies besides the price, but I really don’t care unless it tastes good. This cookie was soft, kind of bland, not enough chocolate chips.. nothing special to me. Ugh, after the disappointing Big Sugar Bake Shop cookies, I have yet to find a “gourmet” bakery that bakes good “gourmet” cookies around here. Until then.. stick with Diddy Riese.

Value: not enough. There’s a gift box there that is $40 for 24 cookies; $1.67 each. no thx.

Google’s homepage has delighted all of us cookie-lovers and Sesame Street lovers alike! Featuring the famous Cookie Monster, Google is celebrating Sesame Street’s 40 years of teaching and entertaining children in the only way Google knows how. Google could have featured Elmo or Big Bird, but clearly, Cookie Monster is the best and loved by all. Clearly. Because Google said so.

Cookies for breakfast!?

John Carlson is my man right now. He wrote a whole article revolving around eating cookies for breakfast and how to do it the right way. I thought I could only do that in college!!!

It’s like, lately, if I don’t have some cookies around the house, I get all depressed and out-of-sorts.

My words exactly. I feel like people don’t get it. (The part I don’t agree with him on, though, is when he says they could be any cookie; that they don’t have to be any specific cookie. I am one of the pickiest eaters I know, and that DEFINITELY carries over to cookies. Perhaps even more importantly so when compared to my veggies.) He goes on to say that he has gotten to the point where his usual breakfast routine consists of cookies and coffee, and eventually doing the sacred dip into the coffee. BUT. He gets all that gross-soggy-cookie-crumbs-at-the-bottom-of-the-mug problem. Well. You can read the article yourself (link above), but I’d like to close this blog entry with another brilliant quote of his:

… if you have to diligently practice anything, it might as well be eating cookies.

Can I get an Amen? AMEN!

What do you think? Has anyone else tried this dunking cookies in coffee thing? What else would be good to dip cookies in? Milk chocolate… nutella…
